Boys’ Basketball: Special Times Watching Holiday Movies

This Christmas season, the boys’ basketball team members are finding ways to celebrate the season and take in some holiday magic of movies from the safety of their homes.

With Christmas here, and Winter Break taking place, families will have some time to sit back and relax, and enjoy some holiday activities.

Watching Christmas movies with family can be a yearly tradition for some, where the family gets together, sits down and gets all cozy, and then watches some movies.

“Christmas Eve, we like to all sit down and watch a Christmas movie,” said freshman center Logan Forbes. “It’s usually a different movie each year, but it’s always a fun family tradition that we love to take part in.”

All families have a favorite Christmas movie to watch together, one that can make them laugh, or cry, or just bring them closer as a family.

“My family and I like to watch Elf every year,” said junior guard Steven Manbeck. “It’s a good, funny movie, and Will Ferrell always makes us laugh.”

According to a SurveyMonkey poll on American’s favorite Christmas movies, most teenagers and young adults have Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Elf as their favorite Christmas movies.

Now with everything that is going on in the country with the pandemic, watching Christmas movies can be a time for families to relax and enjoy themselves.

“I think Christmas movies have a special connection to families, especially now,” junior forward Dylan Pavlovicz said. “With the pandemic making it so people have to stay at home, watching some Christmas movies can bring families together.

There are tons of Christmas movies to watch: The Santa Clause, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Frosty the Snowman, and many more. All of these movies can bring families together for a fun enjoyable movie watching evening.

No matter what Christmas movies you watch this year, watching them with family always provides a special connection and memories that last a lifetime.
